| Stops rising damp from the ouside or below into the masonwork by renewing the horizontal damp-proof course or vertical insulating.
There are three alternatives: 1. Renewal of the outside insulation by digging up, drainage and sealing it. 2. Renewal of the horizontal damp-proof course by using chemical injection (hot, cold, with pressure, without pressure) 3. Renewal of the horizontal damp-proof course by using the mechanical method with chromium alloyed steel, wall saw, exchanging the wall, drill core method, etc. |

| An external insulation doesn't protect against capillary rising damp. A horizontal damp-proof course would help, if it was really blocking the rising damp, but sadly this won't work in most cases. | Infrared panels and microwave systems don't work well against capillary rising damp. | The main problems of barrier system: - None of these systems dehumidifies walls in an active way. Masonwork has to dry in a natural way. - This process takes a long time (e.g. a natural stone wall of 75 cm thickness takes more than 15 years to dry in a natural way). - Often the barrier won't work. More than two thirds of them fail. - Harmful agents of injections put the statics on great risk. |
