| Facade insulation is a department dealing with many irritations, lies and miscalculations! | ||
| - | Dry masonwork insulates much better than damp masonwork. Even only 4% of dampness decreases the insulation value down to 50%! So a 36 cm thick wall suffering from 4% dampness will insulate like a wall of only 18 cm! |

He investigated the energy consuption of two identical buildings in Hannover, Germany. The first building does not have any special facade insulation.
